What's the Difference

While your experience at Authentic Strength will differ in many ways when compared to most gyms, we would like to point out a couple of key differences in our services and training methods.

First, we are a results-driven facility. This means we don't simply want you to have a gym membership, we want you to actually achieve the results you desire, live healthy, and have an improved quality of life. And we believe that the best way to achieve this, is by having a plan. It can be very frustrating, not to mention unmotivating, to go to the gym each week with no real, designed plan of achieving results. We know time and energy are your most valuable assets; don't waste either one by not getting results out of your gym membership.

Second, we don't take lightly the fact that we give advice and instruction concerning your health and physical well being. The exercises we teach, strategies we employ, and equipment we use are all based on education and experience. We very strongly believe in proper and pain-free movement as the basis of your training. Every member, regardless of specific goals, is taken through a full movement screen as the basis of their program design. We propose (for all ages and abilities) that you must be able to maintain (or regain) a certain level of movement quality in order to perform the most beneficial types of exercise and to make a positive impact on your quality of life.

   Fitness and Performance Coach
Johnny has successfully trained a countless number of clients throughout the Dallas area to reach their fitness and body composition goals. Anyone who meets Johnny, soon sees that his daily passion is to motivate everyone around him to live healthy and move well. For many, it has been Johnny's genuine involvement in their health that has kept them motivated and consistent for well over a decade. As a competitive powerlifter, Johnny set an APF World Bench Press Record in 2008.

Johnny is and has been certified as a Personal Fitness Instructor (Baylor Sports Medicine) and a Master Personal Trainer (Cooper Aerobics Institute).
nwylie_pic1    Nate has worked as a strength coach and trainer for the past 10 years. Prior to opening Authentic    Strength, Nate's experience includes coaching for several fitness and performance centers in the private sector as well as two NCAA DI sports performance programs.
   Fitness and Performance Coach
Nate's passion and success has been in coaching a countless number of clients and athletes in improving their quality of movement, quality of performance, and quality of life.

Nate holds his undergraduate degree in Exercise Science from the University of New Mexico and performed his graduate studies at Utah State University. Nate is and has been certified as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (NSCA), Sports Performance Coach (USAW), and a Certified Personal Trainer (NASM).

dhamilton_pic1    David has a true desire to see others excel in their physical capabilities and well-being. Stemming from     David’s own accomplishments, this desire has not only led him to work as full-time coach, but into one of     the most knowledgeable and practical coaches around. David has a far-reaching background in many     physical endeavors, from football and martial arts, to credible success in powerlifting and Strongman competition.
   Fitness and Performance Coach
David competed in the 2009 North American Strongman National Championships and is returning to compete at the national championships in 2011.

David holds his undergraduate degree from the University of North Texas and is and has been certified and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (NSCA).
missionthumb    Authentic Strength is proud work side by side with Coach Chris Glenn and Team Go Hard in pursuing    excellence in student athlete development and mentorship. Chris’ personal background and success in    athletics is extensive. As a collegiate athlete, Chris captained both his school’s football and track teams.   
   Fitness Coach
As a semi-professional and arena football player Chris excelled, achieving Rookie of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year awards as well as breaking many team and league records.

Chris has a true and unequalled passion not only for developing athletes, but for developing hard-working, competent, and successful young men and women both on and off the field. Chris holds his undergraduate degree from William Jewell College and recently earned his MBA from Walden University.
